If you were in a cult or involved in the occult, would you know it? If someone invited you to visit or join a cult or participate in an occult ritual, what’s the first thing you should know that could prevent you from becoming a victim? What makes one group of religious zealots a cult and another group of religious zealots the real deal? These, along with a whole host of other questions are some of the things that people need to be asking themselves before ever committing to the statements and invitations of those who hold counterfeit or deviant religious claims. Truth is absolute, not relative, and a failure to realize that could prove deadly.
The following cult quiz will help you to understand where you’re at in terms of cult involvement or potential recruitment. Typically those in the cults who are involved in recruitment are looking for specific people with specific beliefs, lifestyles, and vulnerabilities in order to make their pitch and then draw in the unsuspecting. All of the following statements in the quiz are either True or False, and depending on how the quiz-taker responds to them, will provide a fair indicator of whether he/she is a target of cult recruitment. The following scale is provided as a tangible aid.
Score:
100–90 = You are in excellent shape biblically, morally, and spiritually. Any cultist attempt to recruit you will be brief. In fact, after one encounter you will not likely see the same recruiter bother you again.
88–80 = You are in good shape biblically, morally, and spiritually, but there are some things that need attention. Most cultists will not try a second time to get you to bite on their bait. If a recruiter does try more than twice it’s because he/she is reading your weakness better than you’re able to shore it up.
78–70 = You are average at best in what you believe, your morals might be a bit shaky, and your spiritual strength is not helping either your morals or your emotions. This means that there are several areas of weakness that a recruiter could exploit. Be prepared for several attempts to hear the “good news” of the cult message. Unless you completely walk away from the advances, it is simply a matter of time before you crumble beneath the cultist smooth sales pitch.
68–60 = You have no idea what it is that you believe about God, the Bible, or Jesus, and are wide open to cult manipulation and recruitment. In fact, you are the prime model for what a cult recruiter is looking for. All it would take is a little “love bombing” and you would without hesitation be singing the praises of the cult leader.
58–Below = You are in a cult, about to join one, or have the mindset to start one.
