“I’m not against gay marriage…I wouldn’t care”

That was a comment, in part, that I heard this morning from a prominent radio guy here in the DFW area.

During a brief discussion on the Supreme Court decision rendered on Friday Hal Jay, on WBAP, said in response to a comment that Brian Estridge made about gay marriage, and I paraphrase, “I’m not against gay marriage.  If they wanted to marry a hubcap, I wouldn’t care.”

It is that kind of stupidity, rooted in stupid thinking, that is bringing the United States to ruin.

The reasons why it is stupid is that it is not only inconsistent when applied elsewhere, it is clearly anti-Christian at its foundation.

For instance, since homosexuality is a sin against God and man, as much so as other sins, such as murder, child molestation, and theft, then if Hal—and others who might agree with him—was consistent, then one could conclude that he would also not care if someone murdered his wife or children.

Moreover, Hal would not care if the State of Texas released all the child molesters from its prisons to then repeat their disgusting acts of immorality with other children.

Nor would Hal care if Kleptomaniac Ken decided to steal Hal’s car.

But, I seriously doubt that Hal, or anyone in their right mind, would be so consistent as to approve or condone murder, child molestation, or thievery.

So, why would he not care when it comes to the sin of homosexuality, much less the sin of homosexual marriage?

After all, God has destroyed whole civilizations because of the acceptance of homosexuality as a “norm,” and not specifically because of any of the aforementioned sins.

One very good reason why Hal, et al, is inconsistent in his commentary is fear.  He is afraid of the mob mentality and antinomian spirit that is driving the homosexual agenda.

He is afraid that if he actually stood up to all the irrational, diabolic, and insidious rhetoric frothing forth from the mouths of those pushing their sickness, then he would suffer, personally, from the backlash.

Such fear, though, is what the wicked and rotten in society are banking on to get their way.

Rather than challenging the stupidity of those making the demands to redefine good as evil and evil as good, the Hal Jay’s of society are only contributing and condoning to such stupidity with own brand of stupidity by claiming they “don’t care,” when in fact, they do.

What makes Hal Jay’s comment extra-damning is the fact that he is on the most listened to radio station in the southwest: WBAP.

WBAP is a 50,000 watt blowtorch heard by millions everyday and basically espouses a “Conservative,” if not Christian, philosophy on social issues.

Claiming to not care who or what one marries is clearly inconsistent, if not antithetical, to either Conservatism or biblical Christianity.

In fact, in the latter case, to be careless about something as significant as marriage is anti-Christian, given that marriage is clearly defined within the pages of the Bible as only between one man and one woman, and homosexuality is defined as an “abomination” to God.

Moreover, since Hal Jay is married to a woman and has two sons of his own, then for him to be saying that he doesn’t care who or what marries is to imply that his own marriage is no better than an abomination.

Again, I seriously doubt that Hal has such a low view of his wife and children as to place them in the category of abominable people before God.

Yet he, and many like him, has fallen victim to the shallow, stupid, sinful thinking that those pushing the homosexual agenda want him to.

Rather than raising the bar of biblical morality and what God has to say from Scripture on the subject, he has kowtowed to the lowest common denominator and has accepted the faulty reasoning that whatever anyone wants, whether it be sodomy, murder, or child molestation, then all is equal; all is right; everyone is okay.

Such blithering nonsense needs to stop if America has any reason to believe it will survive.

Americans, like Hal Jay, need to start caring, for the right reasons, about things like who one marries.

Otherwise, America will die because of its careless acceptance of sin; sin which always leads to death; death of marriage; death of countries and nations; death of a people’s relationship with God.

And I doubt those are other things Hal Jay would consistently want either.
