The Biblical Writers Did Not Know Jesus

Paul Derengowski, ThM

Perhaps one of the weaker arguments against Jesus’ deity is that those who wrote the Bible either did not know Jesus or were not the actual writers of the Bible itself.  Although some of the writers of certain books and letters might be questionable, that in itself does not discount that fact that others such as John, Paul, and Peter all knew Jesus quite well.  Hence, regardless of the anonymity of some writers, what they did say and write about Jesus, and recording the words he spoke, comports perfectly with testimony of those of definite identity.  And when all is considered, the argument that the biblical writers did not know Jesus, much less anything about his deity fails.
