Alexander Hamilton on Electing a President

During the Press Conference in Washington, D.C. on November 19, 2020, one of the lawyers by the name of Jenna Ellis, who has been hired by President Donald Trump issued a challenged to the press to read The Federalist Papers, Number 68. It is a short essay written by Alexander Hamilton on The Mode of Electing a President. In it Hamilton explains the safeguards taken to protect the integrity of the Presidential election, which clearly in the most recent election were undermined. Several, during Hamilton’s day, thought that the process they had put into operation, which included the Electoral system, was “pretty well guarded.” Not only was the electoral system effective at keeping foreigners from stealing an election, but Americans, who might be disgruntled, from doing the same by creating factions to do the same. Dr. Paul, therefore, spends the podcast hour reading the actual text of Federal Paper Number 68, affirming along the way the very argument that Jenna Ellis made during the Press Conference.
