Cultists and Computer Hackers

For the past day-and-a-half I have been experiencing the wonders, glories, and excitement of having someone or something hack into the CAPro website.

Whoever or whatever decided to utilized a “pinhole” to place malicious code into a secondary domain name, which caused the CAPro site to crash. Lovely.

So, after finally identifying and removing all the infected files, everything has returned to normal.

The whole process, though, reminded me of how those in the cults operate.

First, those in the cults only need a “pinhole” or security weakness to inject all kinds of malicious doctrine (code) into a person’s life that at first seems harmless, but ultimately manages to mess up, shut down, or destroy everything, sometimes irreparably.

Second, the cultist must use sneaky, deceptive, covert tactics to carry out his malicious deeds, because if he were upfront about his intentions, he would never get past his introductory line before he was told to stop or go away.

Third, the malicious doctrine (code) the cultist propagates often looks just like healthy doctrine (code), until it is examined more closely by comparing it with the real McCoy, or it is allowed to run its course.

Fourth, if the malicious doctrine (code) is allowed to run its course, whether knowingly or unwittingly, then it will effect or continue to spread to all other areas, until a total collapse of the system occurs, resulting in the shutting down of the site.

Fifth, the malicious doctrine (code) is strictly narcissistic with the hope that by propagating it the cultist will attain a higher goal at the expense of others.

Sixth, in order to restore order to the site, the malicious doctrine (code) must be eradicated, deleted, or destroyed completely, as any remnants of it will only be deleterious to the overall function of the site.

Seventh, only by continually keeping software updates current can the malicious opportunist be thwarted.

The morale of the story is quite simple and summed up in three words, “Be on guard!”

Stay current by “updating” your doctrine (code), so that it is “sound.”

Don’t leave any “pinholes” open or be diligent in eliminating them when you find them.

Because those in the cults are just like their father, the devil, who “prowls about like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour” (1 Pet. 5:8).

Otherwise, just when you least expect it, your life will get turned upside down and then you spend an inordinate amount of time correcting the mess he helped to cause by “hacking” into your life through his minions in the first place.
