Corona Chaos

Never in my lifetime, and that is no exaggeration, have I ever seen the world turned on its head like I have recently witnessed with the whole Corona Virus charade (and yes, it is a charade).

What started in Wuhan, China has now swept the globe and in country-after-country its citizens have practically lost their minds battling a bug that in many instances is not anywhere near the communities that are taking draconian measures to combat it.

It almost seems that one group is trying desperately to outdo the next group for outrageous behavior to make sure it is #1 in caring for its citizens, even though much of what these do-gooders are doing is causing so much panic and hysteria that those whom are supposed to be protected are ending up being harmed more by the outrage than the virus itself!

NBA Commissioner David Silver

First, it was the NBA (National Basketball Association) that shut down or suspended its season indefinitely, because one player contracted the virus.

Then, it was all of the rest of the professional sports leagues, college basketball tournaments, and then complete seasons in other unrelated sports that followed suit.

Not to be outdone, universities and colleges, along with High Schools, Middle Schools, and Elementary Schools, all across the land, jumped on the Corona Virus benevolence bandwagon by canceling, suspending, or extending Spring Break.

While most, if not all the students, were tickled about not having to go to school, the long-term effect of all the pretentious concern and giddy gleefulness is bound to come back and bite a whole bunch of people where the Spring Break sun did not shine, at least in most cases.

Now, mayors in municipalities are taking it upon themselves to enforce their own made-up laws to shut down restaurants, bars, gym clubs, and any other gathering they deem to be off-limits, since they might spread the “pandemic” (a complete misnomer) ever further, even though the actual number of those infected worldwide is so paltry, that when compared to other flu-like outbreaks in the past, if COVID-19 were presented as the reason to shut down whole cities then, the person doing the presenting would be laughed out of the building.

And the craziness of it all does not stop with a select caste of people being basically confined to their own personal prisons (i.e. their homes).

Mad dashes to the grocery stores and food outlets has resulted in shortages of basic articles like toilet paper, hand sanitizer, and bottled water.

Of course, those idiots buying up reams of toilet paper and 25 cases of water at a time were never really concerned about their own personal welfare to begin with.

Instead, they were intent on thoughtlessly destroying their neighbors, as they immediately began peddling their wares online, some of which were asking for six, seven, or eight hundred dollars for a 24-pack of TP!

One person I saw advertising TP at $50 a roll!

Elsewhere, two brothers in Nashville, Tennessee managed to go around that city and purchase 17,700 bottles of hand sanitizer that they attempted to resell online at exorbitant prices anywhere between $8 and $70!

Thankfully, though, with enough reporting by several sensible people, that business venture failed miserably, and the pair not only had to give away all that they purchased, they are now subject to a visit from the Tennessee Attorney General’s office for price-gouging.

May they enjoy their $1,000 fine for each occurrence they are convicted of, which is the penalty for trying to take advantage of people during times like these.

What is, perhaps, the most disturbing aspect of this whole charade is just how easily manipulated society has been throughout the whole ordeal.

The secular media said, “Jump!” and the vast throng of humanity said, “How high?”

It almost made me wonder how difficult it will be when the great charismatic leader with all the answers to the world’s problems comes forth just prior to the Lord Jesus’ return, “And he

causes all, the small and the great, and the rich and the poor, and the free men and the slaves, to be given a mark on their right hand, or on their forehead, and that no one should be able to buy or to sell, except the one who has the mark, either the name of the beast or the number of his name” (Rev. 13:16-17).

Check that.

After seeing what has happened this past week, there is no wonderment at all.

It will be a piece of cake—if there is any left on the shelf.
