Ugly Anti-Trinitarians

It’s been somewhat eventful the past couple of days trying to convince people that the Trinity is biblically sound.

But, some people will not be denied, no matter how many times it is pointed out to them the number of contradictory statements they make.

In fact, they get downright ugly about it, and before long all kinds of specious accusations start flying about, as they attempt to justify themselves.

In a recent case-in-point, a Mormon made the following comments:

LDS: “Jesus never taught the Trinity. It was only interpreted by later creeds.”

Trinitarian: “Yes, He did!” *proceeds to give a verse that only teaches the Trinity if you assume it’s referencing a creed that doesn’t exist yet.

Where she came up with this commentary or conclusion is anyone’s guess.

It is more likely the typical straw man fallacy that most Mormons commit when trying to defending their pagan idea of an “exalted man” orbiting a star called “Kolob” and then claiming that that is God.

I responded with, “Sorry to have to break it to you, but the Trinity is biblical, and Jesus taught it,” and then posted a link to my book, The Trinity: Explained and Defended.

Now, most normal people would not think that was a big deal, but not all people are normal.

Those in abject rebellion against God, like those who responded, went absolutely ballistic.

Even the Mormon made the initial comments decided to get smarmy by stating she would include my comments in her Sunday School lesson,

The fact is, they do not want to hear or see the truth proclaimed regardless of the format!

Before long, instead of addressing the fact that none of them had actually read my book, I was accused of being an apostate teaching Greek philosophy.

The one reference I provided to support the doctrine of the Trinity, 2 Corinthians 13:14, was supposedly taken out of context.

I could not cite anywhere in the Bible where “Trinity” was used or “3 in 1.”

Ironically, the former argument about the word “Trinity” I have addressed in my book.

Besides, I did not understand what the word “AND” meant.

Second Corinthians 13:14 states, “The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.”

It was Paul’s Trinitarian benediction to a church that he had written at least three times, which was having problems dealing with the paganism that had influenced it.

An interesting bio-fact about Sam is that he claims to be “A retired Special Forces (Green Beret) veteran that promotes God, family, and country.

Nevertheless, that clear statement was not proof enough of the Trinity to the rebellious, all of whom wished to be thought of as “Christians.”

There was even one “fool,” in the biblical sense, who refused to read my book, and that after I told him I would send him a copy for free.

Why?

Because it only had a 3.5 star-rating on Amazon!

I am still laughing over that one.

So, it has been an interesting day or so, putting up with the spiritual blindness of so many who refuse to see.

Hopefully, that will not be the end of it, though.

Hopefully, several who witnessed the exchanges, and never chimed in, along with those rebels and morons – again, in the biblical sense – will come to know the only, true God, who is manifested in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

May they have their eyes opened, “so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in” Jesus (Acts 26:18).
