When Nature Talks about God

The Bible records that, “The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork” (Ps 19:1).

What we all so often take for granted, namely the created order, is actually a vast lecture or concert hall where God’s glory is trumpeted all across the universe.

It is what many theologians call “General Revelation,” but the generality that is revealed speaks volumes about the kind of being God is in his power, his providence, and his precision.

All that ever was, is, and will be stem from God’s ability to bring things and persons into being out of nothing, and then hold them together.

In a word, “God did that,” and no earthly ruler or heavenly being, angelic or demonic, can rightly take any credit away from God for his role in the creation of all things, without seriously discrediting themselves.

God’s providence is seen in His creation by observing that each and every thing or person has a purpose.

There is no capricious or meaningless thing that exists—as all things, even those that may be seemingly evil or completely misunderstood—that does not glorify God, which is the highest purpose of God’s creation.

The precision of the created order is absolutely breathtaking, whether one is talking about a comet’s orbit throughout the galaxy and how it can be predicted to arrive the next time it passes earth, or how the human body functions with all of its intricately created parts.

I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.

Wonderful are your works;

my soul knows it very well (Ps 139:14)

Sadly, though, it is because of sin that many of are not paying attention to what nature is telling us about God.

Instead, we go about our daily lives ignoring the obvious and listening to the fools tell us that everything just happened by mistake, and then evolved from it.

Is it any wonder so many, young and old, decide to “check out” of life early?

If they would have only listened to what God is saying through His creation, rather than a bunch of morons who claim that God has not said anything at all.
